The Otschodela Council of the Boy Scouts of America provides among the highest quality scouting programs. The council provides programs in the communities of, Otsego, Schoharie and Delaware Counties in upstate New York.

Mission of the Council

The Mission of the Otschodela Council, Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Within it’s programs the council provides opportunities for scouts to participate in summer camp at Henderson Scout Reservation, Cub Scout and Webelos Camp at Henderson, camporees,  and more. It provides valuable leader training at all levels of scouting. It also promotes many Scout service related programs such as Scouting for Food and Operation Christmas Child where  Scouts and Volunteers spend over 10,000 hours in service each year!
